Chris Thomas King came of age in his father’s south Louisiana juke joint. He became the last major folk blues discovery of the 20th Century when he was “discovered” in 1985 by a folklorist from the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. King has recorded numerous albums and toured internationally for over 35 years. The acclaimed artist also maintains a residency at Blues Alley, the premiere Jazz club in Washington D.C. Chris Thomas King is also an actor from celebrated movies like O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Ray.

"I’ve never shied away from being called a 'blues artist.' Unfortunately, the public has, over the pass 100 years, forgotten its true meaning, how revolutionary it was at the turn of the 20th Century. The blues planted the seeds for America’s counter-culture, its quintessentially American music. I am proud to be its ambassador." -Chris Thomas King

Chris Thomas King has long been in the vanguard of Blues music. One of the greatest blues guitarists of his generation according to Guitarist Magazine, Chris Thomas King has a sound all his own. His new EP “Les Bleus Made In Louisiana” expresses the spirit of his New Orleans musical roots. Two new original songs on the EP “Les Bleus Was Born In Louisiana,” which features a catchy New Orleans second-line groove, and “I Can Fly” a slow burn Jimi Hendrix inspired song, highlights King’s all new show. In addition, Chris Thomas King’s slide acoustic guitar is unparalleled on Robert Johnson’s “Cross Road Blues.”

Live, the Chris Thomas King trio consists of veteran drummer Jeff Mills, and Danny Infante on bass. Chris Thomas King is also available as a solo performer on occasion.
