"Fervent and heartfelt" ~The New York Times

Emma's Revolution is the award-winning “activist power duo” of Pat Humphries & Sandy O. “Inspiring, gutsy and rockin,’” their songs have been sung for the Dalai Lama, praised by Pete Seeger, and covered by Holly Near. With beautiful harmonies and genre-defying, Beatles-esque eclecticism, Emma’s Revolution delivers the energy and strength of their convictions, creating new standards in the art and culture of justice.

This will be the Bay Area CD Release Concert for Emma’s Revolution's highly-anticipated 4th recording, Revolution Now. Covering issues from reproductive justice to killer drones, from the Black Lives Matter movement to the sustaining power of love, the songs on Revolution Now span folk to jazz to funk. Pat & Sandy were just starting this CD last June, when Sandy had a heart attack. The duo returned to touring and finished the CD, bringing these tools of inspiration and motivation to fuel resistance movements at this tumultuous time. As the duo’s friend, Pete Seeger, inspired them to sing on Revolution Now, "Hope changes everything!"

Revolution Now was recorded in Oakland and San Francisco and features Bay Area musicians, John R Burr on keyboards, Jan Martinelli on bass and David Rokeach on drums. Emma’s Revolution is pleased to have these wonderful musicians join them for this special concert at the Freight.
