Intermediate players will be introduced to the Conger method of "five-fingers on the fretboard" with folk and classical arrangements by Larry Conger. 2- 3 pieces will be undertaken each class. We will methodically explore chord shapes all up & down the fretboard in D-A-dd tuning, getting familiar with their names and how to find them for future arrangements and jamming. A capo will be required for some arrangements. Required texts: September on the Mississippi and The Classical Dulcimer Available in multiple forms at https://larryconger.com/tab-books (Purchase or download & bring to first class.)

Teacher, Deborah Hamouris, has played mountain dulcimer since 1979 and taught it for over a decade. She has a BA in Music and gets excited about teaching music both privately & in classes. Deborah currently directs two singing groups and plays in a folk duo, The DulciMates, with husband Buffalo.
