“Jaw-dropping awesome!” is how the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival describes the Kathy Kallick Band, and Kathy Kallick (guitar), Annie Staninec (fiddle), Greg Booth (dobro, banjo), Tom Bekeny (mandolin), and Cary Black (acoustic bass) look forward to proving them right at every show. The KKB is based along the west coast, from the Bay Area to Anchorage, but their powerful mixture of original and classic music, mirroring their distinctive combination of traditional and contemporary sensibilities, has great appeal everywhere. The latest Kathy Kallick Band album, Foxhounds, was #1 (!) on the 2016 Roots Music Report Contemporary Bluegrass Chart and in the Top Ten of the 2016 National Bluegrass Survey, and the band is delighted to feature the songs and tunes of this album, as well as debuting some new material — learned from Bill Monroe, the Carter Family, Bob Wills … and Kathy Kallick.

Kathy has been leading bands ever since she co-founded the groundbreaking bluegrass quintet the Good Ol' Persons. She's won a Grammy and two awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association, and recorded 20 albums, including around 150 of her original songs, and the Kathy Kallick Band has nearly as much fun as the audience when performing. The material is compelling, the tone ranges from humorous to bittersweet to soulful, the instrumental playing is dazzling, the vocals luminous, the presentation inclusive. “Their sound is traditional and unique. Kallick is a triple-threat as singer, songwriter, and masterful band leader; her band is top-flight and really delivers the goods.” – Robert C. Buckingham, Bluegrass Unlimited
